Twenty years working at a pre-press house in Clearwater prepared
Jennifer Travis well for launching her own design business. Now in
her fourth year, a certain steadiness and stability has finally
arrived, as her big day of moving from the old job to the new one
was, a little unluckily, just before 9/11.
Jennifer appreciates how much her background and experience help
her understand present-day technology and why things have to be
done like they do in the world of print publishing. She is happy
she made the change and says that graphic design work “fills the
creative void.” She also finds it satisfying knowing she is
helping people develop their businesses.
Jennifer’s latest artsy passion is mosaic. She makes mirror
frames, bird baths, and furniture. “You can mosaic just about
anything with a flat surface,” says Jennifer. Also, she and
husband Tim are longtime sailors. They share their house with
their “little lover,” Charley, a kitty who has seven toes on each
of his front feet.
