Dawn Marie Norton came up through the ranks of the insurance industry, starting as an administrative assistant and earning her insurance license in 1994. Originally from upstate New York, she has worked in the Tampa Bay area for several years, and is licensed in all lines of insurance including property, casualty, home, health, life, and her specialty, business insurance, which includes all forms of commercial insurance. 

Networking, which has helped her business to grow, comes naturally to Dawn Marie. She has been involved in church education since she was a young woman and has conducted various ministries all around the country. Dawn Marie sees her commitment to POWC as director of two councils as a continuation of her former work. “I have experience tending to the various needs of a diverse population of people, recognizing their talents and how to put those talents to good use, listening, caring, sharing and nurturing,” she says. “This blends right in with the vision of POWC.”

Besides being blessed with four sons and five grandchildren, Dawn Marie is also thrilled that her parents live in a neighboring county. “They share their strength, laughter and their pearls of wisdom with me,” she says. When Dawn Marie is not busy working and her mom is not busy burning CDs – “she’s become a real computer aficionado in her retirement” – they share the “greatest experience” – a day shopping.

Dawn Marie also does strength training and jogging for exercise, and enjoys working on home projects, cooking and baking.
